The Wigan Athletic Heritage Project was set up in August 2023 to collate and chart the entire history of WAFC from 1932 to the present day.
A team of volunteers was assembled, who have begun that task alongside other opportunities for fans to engage with our history. Running heritage displays, Heritage Stadium Tours and most recently relaunching the Past Players Association, the group have been very busy with these very worthwhile strands of the project.
We are delighted that fans will be able to meet and greet their past heroes and hear their stories in Whelan’s Sports Bar post-match.
Our Heritage Team will be on hand to ask the questions and each player will be presented with their official past players badge and welcome letter when they return to the club.
This takes place every home game which takes place on a Saturday, in Whelan’s Sports Bar.
